-> Muthalik's cry against Valentine's Day or his horrific beating of defenseless girls in Mangalore. (disgraceful but i'm sure he was jealous coz he is still a bachelor at that ripe old age)
-> Bombings planned by Hindu Religious Leaders and the emergence of "Indian Mujahideen". (stupid fools can think of only violence and even a sadhvi was a part of this. I'm sure each everyone is corrupt. I won't be surprised if they were working for some islamic terrorist group)
-> The atrocities against Christianity in Mangalore and Orissa. (Shows that our country's intellectual level is growing in reverse!!)
-> Curtailing of pub culture in the Pub City of India. (Again socialistic losers who think they are correct and people should live in only way!! U asses democracy means freeedom of individuals and an individual never lives in the same way as others do!!)
-> Rajasthan CM announcing that he will do away with mall culture. (I think he is working for the terrorists or enemies who wants to stop India from growing economically and industrially!! Stupid fool, wonder how he even got elected)
-> Narendra Modi is still the CM of Gujarat and is walking free even though he did not do anything to stop the Godhra Carnage. (The failure of democracy!)
-> Parties like RSS, VHP, Sri Rama Sene, Shiv Sena et al are rampant and growing and nothing is being done by the Executive or Judiciary powers in this country to deal with the extremist menace. (we can't ban extremist parties but we can certainly restirct their growth and teach people and our children about the horrors of extremism leading the extinction of these parties)
-> Advani announcing openly that he and the BJP will fight this year's election on building a Ram temple in Ayodhya. (I'm shocked beyond imagination!! A national party fighting a national election on the basis of religion and outrightly disregarding democracy. Proves the fact that these old timers have to go)
-> Minister in Karnataka openly in public stating (without making it clear that its his personal opinion) that modern art is destroying Indian culture!! (need i say more??)
This is the face of the emerging India that we are seeing. An India which is desperately trying to revert to the old socialistic norms which thrives on curtailing public rights. The funny thing is that this is the face put on by the old leaders of the country who want to go back to the India in which they grew up. One would think that in their 70-80 years of life they would have learned something!!
Its election time again and once again the leaders will be elected by the people. But who will we elect? Are their any leaders left? Manmohan Singh is a learned man but he is certainly not leadership material, Advani on the other hand is an extremist maniac who can not see past his nose and will run this country into a taliban regime.
But that is not the question, the question is should we let our country be run by half dead morons who are looking for only 5 years of personal profit becoz after that they will die anyway? Should we let the country be ruled by criminals who can't read or write their own names? Every job in this country, even the chaprasi's job has certain requirements then why shouldn't the most important jobs in this country have requirements? Why cant we specify that any member in the government :-
1) should have a minimum IQ of 85
2) should be minimum 25 years of age or maximum 70 years of age
3) should have a bachelor's degree with 1st class.
4) should NOT have any criminal cases against him/her in the court of law or be under investigation of any criminal offense.
5) the PM should have been a member of parliament for atleast 10 years with a 95% attendance record.
6) the PM when elected can not be more than 65 years of age and must have a minimum IQ of 90.
and several such requirements. These oldie nincompoops will turn the country into shambles and destroy democracy. Its is our age out time to live, not some 80 yr old buffoons who can hardly walk and look more and think like they are a 1000 years old.
It is us, the youth, who have to take up the helm, its our time to lead, its our time to shape the world. We've been told throughout our childhood that we are the future leaders of the world, well people guess what!!? the future is here, wake up; see the bright light, smell the fresh air and stop fooling around. Its time to get serious and take over. Its time to revolutionise this country into a modern avatar which will lead the world; not hand it over to a bunch of fossils who refuse to change with the times. Any person, any corporation or any any country can only survive if they change with the times; if they evolve and grow into new ways of thinking discarding the old, its time to do just that. Its time to tell the old baggage to retire and rest, its time for us, the current generation, to take the helm. Its time to change India into a modern country. The last time that happened was when Rajiv Gandhi was the PM. A young and vibrant leader who could see the future. Its time again to change and embrace the future.
Rise oh younguns rise into the light and take this country into a new era. An era marked by peace, tranquility, tolerance, and growth.

@Valaipookkal - Hi.. I'm sorry but i can't read this script. Would you mind posting it in English??
Ha ha! Mayawati? God save! ;D
@Valaipookal - Inge aangilaththule ezhuthavum. (Sorry, can't type Tamil script! That meant - write in English.)
Peace.
We need experienced people on the top job.
Advani may be seeming like an old brat to many, but we can never ignore that this man has over 5 decades of political experience. Some thing, which I think, India needs at the moment, considering the times in we are in,
If People like Sid, Karthik, Richa never will vote, thanks to them
Mayawati would be a supreme force
for sure
But your understanding of the problem plaguing this country is minimal.
Your only admission of the INTENT, OBJECTIVE of the political leaders is:
'An India which is desperately trying to revert to the old socialistic norms which thrives on curtailing public rights. The funny thing is that this is the face put on by the old leaders of the country who want to go back to the India in which they grew up. One would think that in their 70-80 years of life they would have learned something!!'
In those two exclamation marks you exclaim out loud your brashness coupled with ignorance. Nothing more, nothing less.
Do you know what RSS is? Do you know when it was founded and with what agenda? Do you know why Congress is lenient vis-a-vis terrorism?
Young ones like yourself thrive in the blogosphere.
Go write a movie review of Slumdog Millionaire.
Glad you found time to leave your wise thoughts.
I am amazed at your ability to out-think punctuation marks. Period.
Peace.
@ rhett .. give ur opinion on the topic .. reserve your opinions on the writer ..keep them to your own esteemed omniscient self... one who does that according to me first is brash himself ..
here are some questions i would like your esteemed self to answer ...
do you know why the PM lost his sleep after malegaon attacks ..?
Do you know why farooqh abdullah lost the last before elections in kashmir?
Do you know why muslims vote for congress because they fear BJP ?
Do you know the conspiracy hatched in 1989 ?
Do you know what the real issue behind the recent amarnath trust case was ??
Do you know why sadhvi and col. purohit are more pursued than JKLF chief lakhvi .. ??
Do you know why we are a democratic country where the minority gets to dictate terms to a majority ??
I could go on and on ..
the point is you are welcome to give your views dude .. and i will use the word dude knowing the contempt u hv for those who use it .. (yes i am intimidating you ... get intimidated .. couldnt care less).. as i was sayin give ur views on the issue mentioned .. if you think ppl need to know more then enlighten them make them aware .. that is what this blog is for .. sharing perspectives and not imposing one's on the other ... You ARE welcome here .. but please serve the cause of the blog .. not your own ..
and yeah ..
PEACE.
Let me rephrase what I earlier said. I will excuse myself from the questionnaire since it only goes ahead in that line from which I now retrogade.
Yes, we need young leaders.
But at the same time I think that the solution is presented in a quick-fix manner. One gets the impression that the writer does not know about the true nature of the problem. The problem can be fixed only if it is understood in full. In a public forum such as a blog a solution can be reached if the problem is fully stated.
Now...
As much as I would like to share information, as you suggest me to, the issues are numerous and complex.
Vis-a-vis the Mangalore/Bangalore incidents alone
The accusations (by bloggers, public, media, the pink-chaddi-campaigners, etc) on the saffron brigade in their incompleteness are juvenile. The saffron brigade works under the RSS whose founding ideology is to make India a Hindu rashtra, to oust every Muslim, with the purpose to segregate Hindus and bring them under the umbrella of religion. With the VHP as the priest of the Hindu temple. That is the driving force, the principal idea from which mushroom all actions -- rioting in Muslim areas or terrorizing girls in jeans.
I don't think for the true objective/founding ideology of the RSS there is any debate on in any part of the country to oust the virus that the RSS has inflicted this country with -- the infamous Bajrang Dal.
Since all the hoopla that started since the Mangalore incident and culminated on V Day did you once encounter a question on the founding ideology of the RSS -- the governing body of the Bajrang Dal -- whether in electronic/print media, or posed by campaigning bloggers?
Therein lies the answer. The problem is not understood correctly and solutions are put forth.
glad you responded and yes you are pretty much right in stating that the article does not address the core issue .. and the way i see it the core issue has what you stated as one of it's components...
The issue here is .. " lack of tolerance and a sense of respect and equality for what a fellow person believes in and practices" . lines have to be drawn as we live in a society and certain compromises need to be made... based on the benchmark of what would be deemed humane and what inhuman ... RSS ..ousting muslims .. well the exact replica of that is/was what is happening/happened in kashmir .. only this time hindus were ousted by muslims and the union govt. of india.
So whilst problems are many and not limited to hindus and muslims alone ... i feel the solution is to understand and implement the concept of an egalitarian society in word and in spirit .. but that said .. it is a very very idealistic thought ... may not be practically possible but then on a personal level I believe I can follow and implement it .. thats the difference i can make .. and am making ...
Welcome again ..
:)
I did not notice ur response .. ie. the second one ..
regarding voting ... maybe me not voting is wrong ... maybe it is not .. see for me the criteria is whether or not i am serving my country and paying my taxes ... i dont vote not because i dont believe .. it's just tht i dont find anyone there worthy .. and i dont believe in lesser of two evils .. i would rather not be a part of any evil .. that said i know it is not a flawless argument .. and you will easily blow it .. but the point is, my apathy is towards the leaders not the nation .. there is a world of difference ...
Since you apologized and corrected your statement i'll reply accordingly. From your corrected statement i figure that according to you the problem is what happened in Mangalore and the ideology of the extremist parties in India. Yes, i agree with you that it is a major issue. But the ideology of the RSS or the Sri Rama Sene is definitely NOT an issue. We CAN NOT ban all extremist organisations or their ideologies as we live in a democracy; what we must teach the public as well as our children is that violence is not the answer to anything. A next to impossible course, yes, but the only logical one.
As for as the ideologies of these parties go we can not change that either. We can not issue an ultimatum to them saying change ur methods or else close up shop. The only thing left is educating the public so that the extremists' numbers remain low and also we must have a powerful judiciary, policing and executive system that can punish the perpetrators who violate democracy. So as such the issue with the extremist menace is not their ideology but how we can counter their influence.
2ndly, U have totally misunderstood the point of the blog written. Its aim is not to only talk about the moral policing. It talks mainly about the how democracy is starting to fail and at the hands of old leaders of this country. Read it carefully again and you'll see that what i say is true. The bulleted points in the beginning are like an intro or you can say a reminder to some of the happenings in this country. THEY ARE NOT THE MAIN ISSUES THIS POST TALKS ABOUT.
Yes i have not explicitly stated the problem that i'm trying to talk about. but i've come close to it. And in any writing it is not important or necessary to write everything up front. Sometimes you have to write in between the lines for a greater effect.
Look around you, look beyond Bangalore, read the newspapers cover to cover and more importantly read in between the lines. And then after you have collected a more thorough knowledge come back and attack authors on their ignorances. Till then use your highly endowed English skills to writing movie reviews and attacking people who like to use slang in their language.
All the best on your journey to enlightenment!.... Peace!
The problem with democracy is that everyone can have a say in it. Even those who don't / shouldn't matter! And there is no true democracy in the world. While all the power houses, developed countries claim to be a democracy, India faces a challenge of an entirely different sort. Something that can be root caused to Indira Gandhi's emergency - The creation of regional politics which have translated into petty politics. Had regional politics not been allowed to be individual national level parties, but rather been only a part of a national party, things would have been different. But, currently we have a system where coalition governments are in power, and unfortunately, regional politics is unable to have a singular nationalistic view. Funnily though, during the emergency, Indira Gandhi managed to come out with the 20 point development program which was very potent, but never took off thanks to Janata Dal (Now BJP).
Before I talk abt the RSS, let me clearly state that my religious beliefs do not waver towards any particular religion. I am apolitical neither a fundamentalist, not a secularist. My understanding of Indian Politics' facinating history lets me to believe that the RSS were originally founded with a noble intention. Their fundamental beliefs is not extermination of Muslims, but to spread Hinduism. And Hinduism is a way of life (Like every other religion). And anyone who embraces Hindustan is a hindu. Irrespective of their religious beliefs. Post independence, there was mass conversions happening in states like Bihar, and the RSS's principles were not fundamentalist by nature. The VHP was formed as stronger unit of RSS to control forcible conversions, conversions for the sake of money. As far as the union of BJP and RSS is concerned, in order to reach out to a broader mass, they needed a political voice. The BJP was just that. The BJP however is NOT the RSS. They are merely politicians, who crave for power! They did then, they are doing it now. They DO NOT EVEN believe in Hindutva! Otherwise, how can someone who called Jinnah a secularist, and still stands by his stance till date, be a leader of a Hindutva organization?? Its farce, and people need to be made aware of this. I still rememver the gujrat quakes, where my uncles family was stuck, and RSS shakas ran there to save hindus and muslims alike. BUT, at the same time, in villages in coimbatore, RSS shakas teach Hindutva by being anti muslim. And that is because, they are preached by the government. The tie-up with BJP was the second biggest mistake RSS did. The first being the assasination of a great man, due to which they were banned / suppressed for a long long time. This politicization of RSS ideals is something hardcore RSS members are upset with. Till date.
BTW, I have not even started on Col Purohit and the Sadhvi. That probably in subsequent posts. I believe that a wrong is a wrong. And RSS will pay the price for becoming politicized forever!
Now, before anyone jumps with the Rama Sene alliance, Ill quickly clarify one thing. Muthalik was a no one in Politics. He was a struggler, who has been requesting regional news papers to come and attend his 'fiery' hindu-glorifying speeches for almost his entire adult life, so that he could be visible to the BJP leaders! And he had a very very unsuccessful career, in its entirety. The RSS threw him out. He was a no one. He was actually contemplating retirement, till our media brought him to limelight! So, technically, all this pink chaddi campaign, the Renuka Chowdry remarks and everything that happened in the last 2 months is equivalent to winning a jackpot, and he is now a political goldmine!!! Whose fault is it? The politicians? Or the media's? WHich indirectly glorified him in its anti-BJP bashing!!! People like the Rama Sene were, are and will always be jealous, and will continue to exist in every society. Especially in ones which have more than a billion populace, largely unemployed and below poverty lines. With the Congress and the JDS looting people, BJP gained prominence in Karnataka and came into power and that was responsible for the Rama Senes to survive, quite literally. Had the Congress done its duty as a state goverment, we probably would not have seen a Rama Sene.
The problems are manifold, in my opinion. Media is fickle, and largely anti BJP. It will highlight what is sensational, and doesnt do its duty as a medium to educate people. It rocks between the extremes, and that is sad. The media in India is emotional, and very pro-elitist. It somehow doesnt reach the grass roots, is not interested in channelising the youth, and being pro-progress. Rather, it fires up the pro-religion brand of politics that is so common today. I think, it has been sold to the Congress.
Sushant, your post is very inspiring. But, the political system in India is much more complex. And that is where we lose out. We talk of educated politicians. But, this is the same country that gave birth to uneducated leaders like Kamaraj. A politician should not have criminal cases against them. But, this is the same country where lodging a criminal complaint (murder infact) is the easiest thing to do... Bribe the officer. The only good thing I can think of is that today, the youth are becoming more aware. But, are we not supporting causes of convenience? We will throw pink chaddis at people who are not allowing us to go pubbing, but do we even care for what happens in the villages? Would we have knows the evils of Rama Sene, had it not been for the attack on the 'elites'? Who is to be blamed then? Us or them?
I am a part of the rot, who sits in a fancy IT firm, writing blogs, reading online news, discussing politics, but not having the guts to fight it. Feeling guilty, I have decided to vote! A small (probably insignificant step), but a right one nevertheless, I hope! At least it will not be used by someone else.
The response was a series of posts, aggressive at times, assertive at times, and eventually mellowed (post an apology).
This is the challenge of the youth, if they were to take over. The brashness that engulfs the politeness, and an aggressive streak that exists within us. (Political examples are Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi :)).
With most of us younger generation possessing an air of authority and know it all, do you think we are mature enough to lead the nation??? :) Food for thought all!
