Attemting a Tag ... If I were ...

Its been years since I attempted any tag or passed around any. In the afternoon found a very interesting on a blog titled A rose is a rose is a rose!( rose being one of my favorite plants; explains why I landed up there)

All I got to do ( and you too after you read this) is attempt these If I were(s)

  • If I were a month, I would be April ( for it marks the start of a new year according to our lunar Hindu calendar and hence reminds us of fresh beginnings and new starts.)
  • If I were a day of the week, Sunday ( for it symbolizes to me, a day to relax, to cook, not to go out anywhere and spend some quality family time)
  • If I were a time of day, I would be afternoon ( Always bright and over bearing :P )
  • If I were a season, I would be spring ( for bygone is now bygone and it is time to act and do everything afresh and fresh )

  • If I were a planet, I would have options like Mars ( Mangal is my surname so they are akin) or Pluto (My friend Khus always loved that planet) or Jupiter (Sabu of Chacha Chaudhary came from there) but I would chose Earth; for it's variety of everything.

  • If I were a direction, East is my favorite destination for Sun rises up from there.
  • If I were a piece of furniture, A plush recliner type of sofa. Comfy and relaxing yet stylish & sophisticated looking.
  • If I were a liquid, I’d be a lemonade (Sweet and tangy)

  • If I were a tree, I’d be a Mango tree. For the shade it gives out and the fruits it bestows. Not to forget a towering personality.
  • If I were a tool, pliers.( My dad used to manufacture them, and am awed by its utility. I manage to use it for a plethora of purposes.)
  • If I were a flower, A rose ( for the fragrance and the short life it has; giving out a great impact.)
  • If I were an element, gold. Always shining and also for the exuberance it radiates.

  • If I were a gemstone, Diamond - for clarity and sparkle. ( Not to mention how much females love diamonds :-P)

  • If I were a kind of weather, a blend of nice sun and good rains. ( Just like that)

  • If I were a musical instrument, Piano perhaps. ( for rhythms and patterns.)

  • If I were a color, Orange ( brightness and buoyancy )
  • If I were an emotion, The silent kind of happiness. the one u have tears in ur eyes and a smile in your heart.

  • If I were a fruit, Apple perhaps. Like the crunchy sound of it.
  • If I were a sound, the sound of rain falling over the earth. Touche.

  • If I were a car, Willy's ( Rough, Tough and likes to munch food now and then.)
  • If I were a material, Linen ( Cool, stylish and sophisticated)
  • If I were a food, Aloo's chaat ( Spicy and wonderful)
  • If I were a taste, Taste of chocolate. Rich Dark Chocolate. ( It has that Oomph factor)

  • If I were a scent, it would be a variant of musk. (For the masculine and raw fragrance it radiates.)
  • If I were an object, a book ( All knowledgeable, possibly preachy but still your best friend.)
  • If I were a song, I’d be Hazaron Khwahishen aisi, ki har khwahish pe dum nikle. ( for the zillion ambitions my heart carries )
  • If I were a body part, the brain ( for it always opposes the heart; at least most of the times)
  • If I were a place, Anywhere with large farms, meadows and a lovely cottage. (For although it shall sound like a calm place, inside it would be tough and rough, just like me)
  • If I were a facial expression, A long distant glance towards the horizon ( for the search of depth and also for the calmness that is at that time on the face)
  • If I were a pair of shoes, I’d be a pair of sandals ( for it has both, some open spaces, some closed spaces)
I wish all my friends and readers do this tag. So if you are reading it, do attempt it, but not before commenting here.
Thanks

An epidemic of loneliness: Why are we lonely in a world so full?

In the town of Havenwood, an unusual epidemic takes over—not one of physical illness, but an outbreak of loneliness. When Lina, a fiery yet secretly tender-hearted skeptic of romance, meets Quinn, a free-spirited artist questioning the same ideas, they are forced to confront whether real connection lies beyond romantic love or if they are truly doomed to solitude. It was a crisp day in Havenwood, and the sky was brooding—dark clouds laced with impatient energy before a thunderstorm, as if even the heavens felt the town’s growing melancholy. It was not the kind of town you would expect to be cloaked in loneliness. Stone cottages lined the narrow, winding roads, and the trees had that sage-like stillness that you only see in stories and dreams. I hadn’t been here long when the problem struck me like a slap in the face: everyone was obsessed with finding The One, as if every single person was but half a person, wandering through life like a lost sock in search of its pair. How did a town ...

Epitome of Equality

First of all This is not to demean any religion.. I am a Hindu by birth, but yes I respect all religions .I offer my daily prayers , fast on holy days , but there was something that was disturbing me . God as per me was a Friend, someone who was by my side always , someone who was a dear friend , but this is not what everyone else thought , for others he was the Judge who gives his verdict always and punishes anyone and everyone . Walk into any temple and you would see , if you have money , you will be treated in a way as if you are the ONLY disciple of the God . I have had too many experiences where I was treated as a second class citizen in the temple . Why? Well I could not afford giving thousands as donation. This is not how it should be , God looks at each one of us with the same divinity .As I mentioned God for me is a friend, so tell me, do we chose friends based on their bank balances? Do we give our verdict on them ? then how can God do it? I know many of us would ...

When family hurts: A tale of love, loss, and liberation

In the shadow of the Jasmine tree: Breaking free from a toxic family In the decaying splendour of Eyrevale Manor, Elara battles toxic parents, rekindles forbidden love, and questions whether she can escape the chains of her upbringing. Under a canopy of jasmine, secrets are shared, hearts break, and truths unravel. Set in an enchanting town, this story examines love, loss, and the painful pursuit of self-discovery. What happens when home feels like a battleground? No one warns you how heavy a homecoming can feel when the word home means nothing to you. If there is one universal truth, it is this: not all homes are sanctuaries. For some, they are labyrinths of unspoken grudges, passive-aggressive remarks, and familial obligations wrapped in barbed wire. My story, dear reader, begins in the sweltering heat of Eyrevale—a coastal town so humid it could curdle your very thoughts. And for me, Eyrevale wasn’t just oppressive because of its climate. No, it was the family home that truly choke...
