Search for Delhi’s Best Student Bands
Young Artists Across The Capital Participate & Initiatives Announced To Bolster Ladakh’s Development

Live to Love, a global respected not-for-profit organization, while launching their India Chapter hosted a search for Delhi’s best college bands for the ‘Celebrating India, Celebrating Youth  festival at Weightlifting Indoor Auditorium, Jawahar Lal Nehru (J.L.N) Stadium. This was also part of the celebrations for India's Independence Day.

Live to Love, as a not-for-profit organization, which has been involved with the activities centered around Women’s empowerment, environmental & Heritage conservation, & Education, organized Celebrating India, Celebrating Youth 2018 contest. The organization also supports the Druk Padma Karpo school (in Ladakh) popularly known as Rancho’s school in the film 3 idiots. Live to Love provides cutting-edge education deeply rooted in Himalaya culture which inspires the next generation to act as guardians of their culture, their home, and their environment.

“We are encouraging bands to perform Songs inspired by India or songs they feel that reflects India and their mood, cover versions, and original compositions are all allowed, English, as well as all Indian languages, are open” – said Pem Deki, President, Live to Love International.

Given its unique geographical and developmental factor, Ladakh has witnessed major societal and cultural changes over the past few decades. While the scale and quality of education have remained low, increasing number of locals migrate to towns outside Ladakh to explore employment opportunities leading to a regional brain drain. Speaking at the program, Dr. Pramath Raj Sinha, Guest of Honour, announced The Naropa Fellowship, aimed at creating future leaders.

“The transformation outside starts from the transformation inside. 45 National and International visiting faculties will instill a strong sense of purpose and commitment in the first batch of 50 Naropa Fellows, towards working for the upliftment of Ladakh. This will equip Fellows with the skills and tools needed to successfully promote business, enterprise and civic leadership in a 21st-century world”, stated Dr. Sinha, Founder of The Naropa Fellowship.

Various Bands across Delhi/NCR participated from different Universities and colleges, DU- Ramjas, Sri Aurobindo, Janki Memorial etc, Asoka & Ananta University among others. The first prize of INR 20,000 was conferred to the Sadho Band. The Euphonie and Redarc Bands stood second and third in the contest, each bagging a cash prize of INR 7,500 and 5000 respectively. Entries were free and registrations were online through Delhipedia’s website. https://www.delhipedia.com/.

Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra, Janpath, New Delhi

If you cross the Windsor roundabout on the busy Ashoka Road in India's capital and move towards the Janpath road, right next to Hotel Le Meridian you see a small building almost covered with big huge trees. On the ground floor of this building is situated one of Delhi's finest eating places - Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra, the only Jiggs Kalra branded restaurant in the region. On a hot Sunday afternoon, I set out to discover this place and to understand and experience its food. For those who don't about Jiggs Kalra, well he is an iconic chef, one of the most well-known culinary experts in the country. His son runs the popular food brand Farzi Cafe and Masala Library besides other food outlets. Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra first opened in Mumbai in October 2013. Since then the brand has undergone various transformations and innovations. The basic idea the team here has adopted is to look for basic Indian food and flavors and adapt them with postmodern and...

"My cousin touched me there"

Note: When Tan suggested me to post this here...I gave it a thought. I felt he was right.  yeha I know in the election times ..people would be more inclined to politics. Well still..just give it a read :) For the first time when she came in I knew she is going to be one of my best pals. she was bubbly chirpy sociable and a caring human being.she was I felt my true copy. But what I felt wasn't true and I'd never known that trait of hers which never matched mine had such a reason behind it. She never liked to talk or be familiar to the opposite sex. I found this irritating but I just used to remember all her other traits which brought her close to me and made her one of the closest beings to me on this Earth. As she and I had got very close in friendship that we began sharing secrets which we never thought would come out of our mind. And I thought I understood her as I thought she was me. Then one day as we were alone in my room I asked her why she was so unfamiliar and irritat...
