Blue Air advocates people on clean air and lung health on World COPD Day

On the occasion of the World COPD Day, I visited an initiative by renowned air purifier company, Blueair. At Cyber Hub Gurgaon, the company set up a home experience zone with its entire range of air purifiers which is quite huge. COPD is basically Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Air pollution is a major health and environmental problem today. People with respiratory problems, especially children are quite at risk. The levels of particulate matter (PM) 2.5 have serious health implications such as asthma, bronchitis, chronic respiratory symptoms including, shortness of breath etc. Leading doctors and environmentalists, educated people at the event and urged them to take steps to control and combat pollution. I also met, Mr. Arvind Chabra, who is the country head, Blueair India. he emphasised the need of recognising indoor pollution which is way hazardous than outdoor pollution. Because of the simple fact that we spend most of our times indoors than outdoors and that in...

The People & Co. in its new avtaar

CanvasLaugh Club or CLC has been a pioneer brand, bringing in the best of the stand-up comedy in India to leisure seekers. It built up a strong platform for comedians and humor enthusiasts in Mumbai and later in Gurgaon. I recently visited the place now referred to as The People &  Co. to get acquainted with the new branding structure and whether there really existed a need to upgrade the experience. The founders of the place have now expanded their platform to host a wide range of live events under their Get Live initiative. They have aimed to move beyond the comedy and culinary scene to enhance client experience with stuff like live bands. The location is great, it is situated at the Cyber Hub and this space was earlier being used as an office. So they have got a large space with a generous front which has been designed aesthetically. The Delhi venue has been designed to offer varied experiences from their different venues including a Restaurant know as the...

The golden hour sounds like a simple term but in actuality is a complex issue for the Medical minds. It refers to that one hour of emergency when a person is dying but can be saved. It's that critical straw which if clutched properly can save a human life.  I have been following up on quite of health-related innovations, from millets to the super oil so was interested to know more about an innovation to address this very important issue. That it comes from Aster Health, a very old Kerala-based healthcare provider made it more interesting to follow. Unveiling a novel and unique concept, The “Aster Emergency App” was launched on May 25, 2017 at Hotel ITC Maurya, New Delhi  by Padma Shree Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman & Managing Director of Aster MD Healthcare. Amavas Se Amaltas - A play about relationships and love

Sunday evening I went to watch a play at the India Habitat Center's Stein Auditorium.  It was an inspirational performance and left you with a deja vu. I also loved the name of the play as Amaltas is such a pretty sight to watch in its full bloom.  The play produced by Aganpakhee and Sakshi and presented by Aartwo Entertainment focused on raising children in extraordinary circumstances. It looks beyond the usual mother-son, mother-daughter relationship and explores the theme of mortality. I think this was the second performance of the play as the first time the show was featured, it was at Gurgaon's Epicentre. Sprinkled with humor, the play lets you on to the life of a retired judge and her children, whom she has adopted and not born herself. The conflict she faces when her daughter asks her to make a difficult choice. It is also well portrayed and so well crafted that the play moves you, stirs your soul. However, I liked the fact that they ended it with ...

Inauguration of Decathlon at Tagore Garden, Delhi

Decathlon, World's largest sporting goods retailer, has come up with their new store at Pacific Mall, Delhi and I went to see the sprawling store myself on the 15th of April. Abhishek, manager at the store was kind enough for a quick chat in between the usual bustle of customers crowding the just-opened store. He quipped, ‘Though Decathalon caters to over 100 sports under one roof, this launch event will showcase, a lot more that can happen with sports. The basic motive of the event is to share a wow experience with the visitors making sports accessible to all. The grand opening of Decathlon, Tagore Garden is certainly an event which every sports fanatic should catch up on.’  The store has a neat division of sporting goods, on the lines of a particular sport. Suppose you are interested in Badminton, then head to the section for Badminton goods, similarly for any other sports look for that section. The variety is amazing and I am sure they cover almost ...
